Travel Tips!
Our customers often ask about the rules and best practices for taking their vapes abroad. Whether you're setting off for a weekend adventure or a long-awaited holiday, being well-prepared is key. Here’s everything you need to know to avoid hassle and enjoy your trip.
1. Research the Local Laws
Vaping regulations can vary drastically from one country to the next, and even within different regions of the same nation. To avoid any trouble, it’s crucial to understand the rules of your destination before you travel. Here are some notable examples:
- Australia: You’ll need a prescription to bring nicotine e-liquids into the country.
- Singapore: Vaping is strictly banned, and being caught with a vape can result in hefty fines or even jail time.
- Thailand: Another country with severe penalties for possessing a vape. It’s best not to bring one at all.
- USA: Regulations differ by state. Some places are lenient, while others may restrict public vaping or sales of certain products.
Before packing your vape, ensure you check the laws not only of your destination but also of any countries you’ll be passing through. It’s far better to be safe than sorry.
2. Pack Smart
Packing your vape gear with care can save you from a world of trouble at the airport and beyond:
- Carry-on is best: Most airlines don’t allow lithium batteries in checked luggage, so make sure your device and any spare batteries are stored in your carry-on. This helps avoid any safety hazards during the flight.
- Prevent leaks: The change in air pressure during flights can cause your e-liquid bottles or pod devices to leak. Ensure everything is tightly sealed and packed in clear plastic bags. Remember, all liquids must be under 100ml to pass through airport security.
- Chargers and spares: Don’t forget your charger, and it’s always a good idea to bring extra coils, pods, or even a disposable vape in case of malfunctions. Keep in mind that some airlines may limit the number of spare batteries you can carry, so it’s worth checking their rules beforehand.
3. Bring Enough Supplies
Depending on where you're headed, finding your preferred e-liquids or replacement coils might prove difficult, especially in countries with strict vaping laws. Stock up on supplies before you leave to avoid running out during your trip. In some places, even the most common vape products could be hard to come by, or might come at a premium.
4. Long Flights and Nicotine Cravings
Long-haul flights can be particularly challenging for vapers, especially with airport and airline bans on in-flight vaping. If you're unsure how you'll manage cravings, nicotine pouches or gum can provide a discreet and legal alternative to help get you through those hours in the sky. This way, you avoid the temptation of trying to stealth vape, which could land you in hot water with the flight crew.
